About this service
An endoscope is a thin, flexible tube with a video camera and a light at the tip. Passed through a natural opening, it lets us see the lining of the oesophagus, stomach, duodenum or trachea on screen, without any incision.
In some cases swallowed foreign bodies can also be removed through the endoscope, avoiding surgery.

Frequently asked questions
Is anaesthesia needed?
Yes. Endoscopy is done under a short general anaesthetic for your pet’s safety and comfort. Beforehand we check general health with blood tests.
How long is the recovery?
Usually your pet wakes up quickly and can go home the same day.
